No doubt are they any less deadly than the Smith's!
Just realized that I didn't post any tigers for a loooong time! So, here they are, and of course, this shot was taken in the Leipzig Zoo, like so many others of my photos.

i thought this was one of those insanely detailed paintings but it turned out to be an insanely goregeous photograph. i love that angle on the tiger lying down with its head up, i can so see this being painting by someone (maybe me someday even)
your lucky, the first time (and so far the only time) i saw a tiger was just the behind hidden from under some foliage in his enclosure cos he didnt feel like coming out. the zoo where i live is exteemily exspencive and doesnt have much in the way of foreign animals such as big cats (doesnt have bears, canines like foxes etc or even birds) so i have only gone once. must be amazing to see not just one, but two at the same time so happy together.

Unfortunately, I'm not *that* good at painting, so I had to get a photo.
I actually like the concept of your zoo, too, to focus on animals accustomed to the climate, and give them big enclosures. We've got a zoo that's like that in the outskirts of Berlin, as well. I feel somewhat guilty seeing giraffes, or lions, or elephants having to mess with snow. They weren't made for that. Neither were polar bears made for summer temperatures over 30°C.

Yeah its tropical where i live and doesnt get any colder than 14 degrees, and of course its very humid so polar bears wouldnt like that very much, but the lions seemed happy when i went so maybe thats why they dont have too many animals, never thought of that. its probably why there are alot of monkeys there too.

Wow, that sounds really nice. Right now, Berlin's pretty much under a solid blanket of snow; we've had heaps of the stuff over the last two days.

This is what I like about that enclosure, it's very naturalistic. And those two were so gentle with each other, it was nice to see.

Well, unfortunately it's not my city zoo, it's about 200 km away (I live in Berlin, the zoo is in Leipzig). If it were, I'd have a season's ticket for sure!
