I thought it's time for another wolf.
This one looks a bit battered, and it seems that he lost a fight for rank in the days before we got there, because he had a few nasty scratches and a very ugly open wound on his back. I know they care for their animals in that park, but this was a bit unsettling.

Stunning wolf. I've always been a massive fan of them. I would have liked, if you were commenting on the brutal battering this creature had - if you had focused on it. If you had not mentioned it, I wouldn't have noticed and I think it gives a really interesting angle to it. Also, the focus isn't fully onto the wolf, or on any aspect of the photo, which is a real shame. Keep it up,

I do understand your points of critique, unfortunately the conditions for these photos (I've got several more in my gallery, if you're interested) were less than perfect, because there was a very narrow fence fence around their enclosure which effectively forced me to shut off the autofocus, and those wolves are really very fast, so I didn't manage to get every shot perfectly focussed manually. I was still happy enough with this one because of the wolf's "What are you looking at?!" look. He looks like a tired, battered warrior (which he was). It was impossible from where I stood to get more of his injuries on the photo, but I have a couple where he licks the wound - likewise out of focus, so I didn't post them.

The actual photo does actually show more of him; I cropped it somewhat. But I like this one better. And yes, I can only agree: wolves are wonderful animals! Thanks for commenting!
