new character for the starfinder game im in!!!!!!!!!! their name is dr. marion byrd, but god, jesus christ, please, it's JUST BYRD. they r a biohacker and a bit insufferable.
ACTUALLY (and now this is a secret, you can't tell my party because they dont watch me on deviantart) byrd is an excuse for me to larp newt geiszler. im waiting to see how long it takes my party to realize that im just.. being newt geiszler. who knows, byrd might evolve into something more original, but frankly, im a bit bad at roleplay, so i wanted to just pick a personality that already exists and copy it hdfgkf.
like my last tabletop character was syntyche, right? and i started out w/ a pretty strong concept for her. but over the course of the game like... idk.. she became smth other than what i'd planned (WHICH IS PART OF THE MAGIC OF ROLEPLAY LIKE I GET THAT, IT'S COLLABORATIVE) and im happy w/ how her story ended!!!!!!!! but i feel like i never was able to play her consistently.. and i had some like.. serious cutting concepts for her as a character that i ended up pussing out on and never bringing up in game because like. the rest of the party was already trauma central i didn't wanna overload everyone.
hrm. i've been playing tabletop games with roughly the same group of people (some differences between campaigns) and i like them all very much BUUT i always feel like... a little overshadowed because they've all been playing tabletop wayyyyyyy longer than i have x___x and they always seem so invested in their characters and frankly i have a hard time letting myself develop rpg characters because like.. i never know what's going to happen to them. idk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i tried to get invested in syntyche and just.. idk i lost some of her original concept.
i think i might revamp syntche for a new, independent setting.. if i do that, i'll talk more about my thoughts on her then.. for now it's byrd.
well we had our first session of the starfinder game a couple days ago and i think it went well i like the other characters, i think they like me, i still felt a little awkward but i think i'll get into it soon. i've also started taking extensive notes on each session because we do it through discord and it's hard for me to pay attention when there's no visuals x__x so im making an active effort. AGH! <3
