Geez! how many Deflectors does it need, 3 seems a bit over the top, (Except for the Prometheus class which has multi vector assault mode)

The 'sensor dishes' on the torpedo nacelles are not deflector dishes... they are advanced targeting sensors.

Even if they were deflectors, redundancy is a good thing on a a starship as if the main deflector gets severely damaged in combat, the ship can still get away at warp using secondary deflectors to navigate warp. Without a deflector or smaller secondary deflectors if the main one's damaged they could not go to warp as they could not navigate it. On the RELIANT in ST II, some fans argued that the RELIANT had no main deflector. The two smaller protrusions on the top of the saucer, each on the side of the bridge were smaller nav deflectors that just didn't light up. Two smaller ones used in unison instead of one main deflector.
