You carve it into a foam pumpkin instead of a real one? That must mean you use a light-bulb instead of a candle.

well, first I carve any of my images into a real pupkin. then, if I really like it, I'll carve it into a foam pumpkin so I can keep it... it's very depressing to have to throw them away after spending so much time on them. that, and foam pumpkins hold more detail since they are more durable...
and I use those LED lights inside them... although, I use a camping light/or very bright light source to make them show up clearly when I take pics to post here.

Dude. That must mean you have a buttload of foam pumpkins in your house all with different anime characters on them. I'd soo buy the Kikyou one. Heh-heh. My mom is a tradionalist, uses candles. It makes it smell like pumpkin pie when they get scorched inside. I like smashing them after they gotten all shriveled.

yeah, pretty much! I have the 3 carved foam pumpkins... and I think 3 more that I haven't carved. the carved ones live in the attic until Halloween, and the uncarved ones currently live behind the couch until I have time to carve them...
and I love using a candle in my real pumpkins. I like that smell too. can't use a candle in the foam ones though... highly flamable... ^-^' yeah, if I don't like the way my pumpkin turned out, then yes, I enjoy smashing them too!

Heh-heh. Pumpkin smashing. The last year I lived at home my brother fooball punted it and it exploded everywhere. Well, at least it did over a large part of the lawn. Flying pumpkin chunks. He actually kicked it clean off the porch.

I think my favorite part about carving them is pulling out the guts. I just like the squishy feeling in my hands. (I know, creepy.) Then I like to roast the seeds and eating them. I have a thing for roasted pumpkin seeds.

When pumpkin seeds are home roasted they never do come out right. Usually the ones we did were always too salty and never got fully dry so they were chewy which was always fine by me.

The store bought ones are crunchy because the companies that make them have severely climate controlled atmospheres. Not to mention giant machines that can such all moisture out of the surrounding area!!!

I would if I lived in Florida. Humidity sucks and makes it hard to breathe. Plus you get all sticky. EEEEWWW.

Here in NC we just get REALLY dry hot. Humidity only comes in the summer after it rains.

I don't like too much heat myself. I like spring and those nice warm days in fall.

yeah, I'd be more opposed to the cold if I still had my job at the vet clinic walking dogs twice a day outside...

nope. I have an Agriculture science degree... which is about as useful as a degree in underwater basket weaving for all the good it does me. I want to work in props and set design... and am looking for a new school... and new job. I worked in the kennel at the vet clinic.

Dude!! An underwater basket weaving degree would be cool!! It would also mean I'd know how to swim, which I don't. An Agricultural Science degree these days is only good for farming and teaching. You basically want to work behind scenes in either theater or movie then. Cool!!

yes, it would be cool. yeah, I have no interest in farming or teaching... (I started out going for a degree in pre-vet medicine, which was in the Ag dept at my school, desided I wanted to do prop and set design, but finished w/a degree in Ag b/c I was so close to getting on). yeah, I want to work behind scenes... I would love to get paid for making things like my costumes/props for movies or theater!
