You ran towards Diamond's house, feeling elated as you burst through the door. "DiadiadiaguesswhatohmyArceusyouwouldnotbelivewhathappened!" You yelled, despite the fact that he was only ten feet away from you in the kitchen. You jumped up and down in excitement.

"What is it, [Name]?" He asked, cooking something. "I won a ribbon from the Super Contest I entered! And it's all thanks to your amazing Poffins!" You said, pulling him into a big Ursaring hug from behind.

"That's great." Diamond said, adding a mixture of berries into a Poffin pot. You let go, feeling that something was off. "Dia? Is there something wrong? Did I hug you too hard?" You asked, trying to look at his face. He refused to look at you, turning so you wouldn't see his face.

"No. I'm fine." He said, brushing away what you thought were tears, trying to pass it off by pretending to fix his hair. "Please tell me. I want to help." You offered.

"I just feel... Really off. Something's going on in me and I can't figure out what. It's making my emotions go haywire, and I've been really stressed." He said. Diamond stirred the Poffin mixture idly, accidentally burning it. He sighed, dumping it into the trash.

"Nothing's going right, [Name]." He said, fighting another wave of tears. "I-I really need to go. See you." He tried to leave the kitchen, but you grabbed his hands. "Diamond, please." You said desperately, blushing as you realized you were holding hands.

"I'll help you sort things out. You don't have to hide from me. I know your emotions affect you a lot more than others, so it's not good for you to keep them bottled up and stored away. I really care for you and I love you." You said, the last three words accidentally slipping out of your mouth. You blushed, hoping he didn't notice the last part.

Diamond stared at you with his blue eyes, then started crying again. You hugged him tightly, hardly caring as a wet spot appeared on your sleeve. "I'm so lucky to have you as a friend, [Name]. Thanks." He mumbled into your shoulder. "And I'm lucky to have you as a friend, Dia." You murmured back.

"I love you so much." He said, his words muffled by your clothes. You blushed, but continued to hug him. "Y-yeah. Love you too." You stammered, trying to keep your cool. Diamond looked up at you, then put his hands at your waist, pulling you close. Your heart soared, knowing what was about to happen. "Dia-"

A very pleasant feeling spread from your lips, filling your body with a warm and enjoyable sensation. You were kissing your best friend, something you had wanted to for ages, but you were afraid it would hurt your relationship with him.

You didn't have to worry anymore. As soon as the first kiss ended, the second one started, then the third, then the fourth. After that one, both of you were out of breath. "[Name]... I never thought..."

"That I loved you? Of course I do. I always have." You said. "But, I'm glad things turned out the way they did. You're an amazing girlfriend." He said. You reddened.

"Silly, you haven't even asked me yet." You giggled, but the answer would have been 'yes' anyways. "I didn't know I had to." He said. "Will you be my-"

"Of course." You interrupted, once again. Both of you laughed, sitting down on his couch. "Let me see your ribbon." He said. You brought it out, showing it to him proudly. "I never would have gotten it without you. Your Poffins are the best that I have ever seen!" You said, letting him hold it. He brushed his finger across it, admiring it.

"But it was you and your Pokémon that earned that ribbon. I only helped enhance their appeal." Diamond said modestly. "No, really! If I made the Poffin instead of you, I would have lost. The person in second place lost only by a few points." You said, causing him to go pink.

"It was the least I could do to help my friend." He said. You gave him a quick kiss on the nose. "You're too humble, Dia. But it's adorable." You stated, leaning your head on his shoulder. It was true, though. Everything he did, the way he acted and talked was just so endearing.

Diamond kissed your forehead. "If you really think so, [Name]. In fact, I find that you're pretty cute yourself, miss." He said. It was your turn to blush. "Hehe, thanks." You giggled, wrapping your arms around him and squeezing him like he was a Teddiursa.

He began to hum a song quietly. You tried to recall what song it was, but it made you feel sleepy. You were quite tired from your performance earlier that day, and the sun already dipped below the horizon. Your eyelids fluttered, then closed.

"Goodnight, my angel." He murmured softly. "Mmhm." You mumbled, snuggling into the folds of his jacket. The two of you eventually fell asleep, curled up on the couch in each other's embrace.

It's alright to cry in front of your friends. They'll take care of you, trusting that you'll do the same for them. That's one thing friends are for.
