"Master Silver, here are the clothes you are to wear for the ball. Your mother requests you find a woman tonight, in hopes for your marriage." You say, dipping into a neat curtesy. You handed him his clothes, finely tailored with red and silver accents. He scanned them with his bright gray eyes, before giving a small 'hmph.'

You quickly scurried away. You were the maid and personal attendant of Silver, the only son of one of the wealthiest families in your country. His mother wanted him to find a wife tonight, so he could inherit the wealth and carry on the family legacy.

You wished he would choose you, but that could never happen. You were his maid, for Arceus's sake! And you've been so ever since his mother let you in on that stormy night, haven taken pity on you when you were abandoned by your own parents at age eight. It has been a decade now, and your feelings for Silver only grew. And now, you would have to tend to him and his future wife.

"[Name]. I would like to have some tea." He requested. "Of course. As you wish, Master Silver." You said humbly, quickly brewing a cup. Without meeting his eyes, you curtseyed again, straightening your Kalosian-style maid outfit.

Silver sipped it quietly, before setting the half-full glass on a nearby coffee table. "Is something the matter? Is there not enough sugar?" You asked politely, to which he shook his head.

"Not at all, [Name]. Not at all..." He murmured, before going to his private chambers to change.

You had decorated and cleaned the old manor for the party, setting out the finest porcelain plates and a large crystal punch bowl in the middle of the dance floor. You selected the best wines and prepared the sandwiches, retying the ribbon around your waist. Then, you headed back down to your quarters to finally rest.

Right before the ball, you knocked quietly on Silver's door. "Master Silver, the ball is about to begin." You called softly. When he opened the mahogany door, you averted your eyes respectfully and curtsied.

It was a maid thing; maids showed the utmost amount of respect and loyalty for their masters. They avoided all eye contact (which was a sign of challenging their masters, which was extremely rude) and not curtseying was also a sign of rudeness.

However, you couldn't help but sneak a quick peak at his face. It was extremely handsome, the way his fiery red hair framed his pale face, his stoic expression matching his penetrating and seemingly emotionless gaze.

Your eyes trailed downwards, admiring his outfit. It was elaborate, the collar of his zigzagging for a bit until his chest area, where it broke off into two thin tails. His dress shirt was white, the sleeves rolled and buttoned back over his wrists. Silver's straight black slacks led all the way down to his simple black dress shoes. It was all set off by a red ribbon, fashioned into a crisp bow tie.

You then pinched yourself, punishing your disrespect of 'checking out' your master.

"Master Silver. Do not forget what your mother-"

"I remember what she said." Silver cut you off coldly, a brief flash of emotion going through his face. What was it? Hate? Fear? You couldn't tell. But you immediately hung your head in shame.

"I do sincerely apologize, Master Silver. I did not intend for my words to hurt or offend you." You apologized meekly.

"You need not worry about it, [Name]. I am not angered by you or your words." He said softly. You trailed behind him down the hallway, keeping your gaze on the ground like a proper maid. You absentmindedly fingered your [favorite color] hair pins, the ones you only wore on occasions like these.

"Master Silver, please enjoy yourself." You said, hurrying off to serve wine and snacks.

Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Silver sipping punch when some blonde girl sidled up to him. She was extremely pretty, her over-the-shoulder dress composed entirely of blue silk. She had a large and elaborate flower ornament in her hair. She was clearly an upper-class woman.

"Silver," she cooed, making your grip on the wine glass tighten, "I heard from your mother you need to choose someone to marry. I believe I would make an excellent wife for you~" she purred, snaking an arm around him.

To your relief, he pushed her off. "Believe what you want. I find no interest in you." He said coldly. She stormed off, completely red-faced.

This continued for most of the night; women, each one foxier and even more beautiful than the previous one, attempted to seduce Silver. But they were rejected and they ran off. Some forced Silver to dance with them, but he looked completely bored and uninterested when they did.

As you served the guests cheese and wine, Silver came up to you. "[Name]. I would like to have a word with you outside." He said.

"As you wish, Master Silver." You said obediently. You quickly excused yourself from the guests, before following him on the balcony. He closed the curtains and glass doors behind him, so no one would be able to see the two of you.

You were confused. Why did Silver request to speak alone with you? And in private?

"Master-"

"Please. Refer to me as only Silver for tonight." He said smoothly. You dipped your head and curtseyed.

"As you wish, Mas- I mean, Silver." You said hastily. It was strange to not address him as 'Master,' since you were his maid. But it was his request, and you did not question it.

"[Name]. For a decade, you were my maid and personal attendant. Since we were both eight years old, you have tended to my every need." Silver began.

"It is my duty as a maid, Mas- Silver. It is nothing." You said modestly.

"So you say. As you can see, I have not found a suitable partner yet. I have no interest in the women attending the party." He continued.

"That is troublesome, indeed. It would be against your mother's wishes to refuse to choose to marry someone tonight, Silver. If you wish, I can go out to town to find a suitable bride." You offered. He shook his head.

"Do you not see where I am going, [Name]? I do not care for any of those women. You may think you are a maid and only a maid, but you have been with me since we met. Does that not seem special?" He asked. You quickly tried to hide your blush.

"D-does it really seem so? I-I never considered the possibility..." You stammered nervously, your heart picking up the pace.

"I have another request. Dance with me." He said, taking one of your hands with in his gloved one and putting the other on your waist. He began to sway and you followed suit, dancing underneath the night sky,

"I-I think your mother may not approve of this..." You mumbled, your face scarlet. You tripped a little, but Silver's strong arms caught you. He brought you up until your hands were against his chest, your face dangerously close to his. Even while this close, you still tried to avert your gaze.

"To heck what my mother thinks. [Name], look at me." Silver ordered. Reluctantly, your eyes flickered and gazed into his shining gray ones. They were not emotionless like they usually were. Instead, they were tender and caring.

"Do you love me?" He asked, his breath tickling your nose. You breathing quickened, but there was no escaping his question.

"Why, I-I don't know what to say-"

"Do you or do you not?" He pressed, his gaze commanding you to answer.

"Yes. From the start, I did... Call it a dark secret if you will. From the very moment I was assigned to be your maid, I fell in love. But I never thought you would ever return my feelings." You confessed, your face red with embarrassment.

"Whether you knew it or not, I cared for you very much indeed. I've had a maid before, and I never felt anything special. Then, you came. At first, I did not pay much attention to you. As time went on, however, I began to see the true beauty in you. You became less of a maid and caretaker and more of a friend to me."

"This is why I request that you marry me." Silver said. Your eyes widened.

"I-I cannot believe it... My answer is yes, Silver." You murmured. He sealed the gap between you and him, his lips smooth and tasting like the punch from earlier. He kissed harder, making you moan slightly. He licked your bottom lip and your resistance crumbled, and his tongue darted into your mouth.

When he finally broke away for air, you were flustered. "T-t-that was too much." You panted, flushing.

"Am I too much?" He asked. He carried you, through the banquet hall and up to his private chamber. He deposited you onto his bed gently.
