Lucy is known for sneaking out of the palace grounds and running off into the woods to play with the fairies and pixies that she swears exist, despite what her father might say. (Hayden would like to remind Vin that he himself is half angel/half demon, and his wife is half elf/half shapeshifter, so the existence of pixies and faries isn't that far fetched)Every time Vin and Ophelia have to send out armies of people out to search for her.
Lucy has just heard the story of Hansel and Gretel, and thinks that if she leaves a trail of bread, then this time her parents will know where to find her. If only the pixies and fairies didn't run away when her parents came, then she could introduce them!
