my daughter and I were disappointed that there weren't any clouds to add drama to the sunset but in the end we both agreed the light was more than worth it!!

This is over 100 miles away from where we were taking the snow shots (and 7000 feet lower ) This is in the Sacramento River Valley down in the wide space in the middle of the state...This particular spot is part of a Wildlife Preserve and is maintained (along with many of the local rice farmers leaving their fields empty in the winter) to give the major migration path birds places to land and feed

Your weather dose sound like winter finally! I'm still wearing a short sleeve T-shirt during the day, but it gets cool at night...

Sorry for the late reply. Still feeling poorly I hope the medicine kicks in really soon. It’s freezing cold out here. 3F° during the night and now 11 am it’s still -21F°. And we are lucky, in the rest of Europe it’s colder. 

I'm feeling a bit better, thank you.
We have lots of rain, I will send some over. No, I hope nature will find his balance soon. Is it always so dry where you live? We have a mild climate with more rain than we wish fore.

I'm glad you're feeling better

California has always been kind of 'feast or famine' when it comes to rain - there's evidence of droughts through out our history...it just didn't mean quite so much to so many people when there were fewer living here also now much of the water that Southern CA gets (which is truly mostly a desert climate) comes by aqueduct from Northern California so when we don't get enough rain or snow up here then it "hurts" more having to give it away to the south

Thanks! It was idyllic!! We had the perfect temperature...warm enough to not need much in the way of a jacket and cold enough that the mosquitoes were not out
