Oh you're close to the Poppy Preserve in the Antelope Valley! When I lived in Santa Barbara & Ventura/Ojai I always meant to go but never did  We've had a wonderful amount of rain up here this winter - over 8 inches this month alone where I live...I hear it hasn't been as good down south, sadly.

Everything is going crazy at once!  Even the dogwood which don't usually bloom until late April are in flower... (I have a camera club print competition theme of "self portrait" in May - I'm thinking about how I can incorporate the hill of poppies )

Might try placing some of that shredded metallic foil--you know the kind, it's used in gift bags and probably Easter baskets-- in the background to give some multi-color bokeh?  A few strands strategically placed would be very cool! Of course, then you'd have to pick it up lest your lil critters get ahold of it.
