Burns tower. and you've been to Preston Castle. How was it? Was it worth it? I am thinking of going there myself this weekend with the brother and husband

I'm sorry I'm so late in responding to this but my daughter and I went to southern CA for the long weekend...yes, we've been to Preston Castle and it is worth it! If you haven't yet gone make sure and bring a tripod, though you don't have a lot of time to take photos inside...but it does help with the shots on the fly! Occasionally, if there aren't too many people in you tour group you can get a few more minutes...have fun

It is pretty scenery! We take the hypotenuse of the I5/hwy50 triangle up past Ione toward Placerville from Stockton when we're heading down or back from southern California (we moved from near Santa Barbara almost two years ago) and the first time of seeing that Castle was 
My daughter and I were saying yesterday on the way home that we need to get (the friend who's going to school in Stockton) to meet us in Ione for a Preston Castle tour soon

awesome. I've never been to Santa Barbara, but I hear it's nice and pretty. I know I want to do a day tour but for my birthday that is coming up I'd like to do an over night tour, only problem it's 100$ a person. So I may try to do a tour in early march

I grew up in Santa Barbara and met my husband up at Chico...took him back down south with a promise that someday we'd move back up

well one would be preston castle.

well, there's a great pioneer cemetery over in Sloughhouse, near Rancho Murietta on Hwy 16 (I think that's the right number) about 20 minutes away from the Castle that was cool last month...and coming soon is Daffodil Hill in Sutter [link] over north of Hwy50 is Coloma and Sutter's Mill - the starting point of the Gold Rush...there are lots of interesting things to see here
