Description I've been watching the 1985 series "North and South" this week and was inspired. Actually, each time I watch North and South or Little Women I want to make dresses like the women wore during the American Civil War. So, I decided to make one, just not for myself (as I would require nearly 20 meters of fabric just for the undergarment...). Cassandre does not require nearly as much fabrics.

So here we have miss Cassandre in her evening gown, ready for a bal.

Everything was handstitched.

That is just gorgeous! It was handsewn? Amazing work! I love all the details including the little gloves/fingerless gloves.

How long did it take you to make? How hard was it to sew?

Oh thanks a lot!
It was handsewn yes and my fingers still complains about it, lol.
It took me two days and it was hard because the fabric would just fray away between my fingers, making it harder to sew and I had to undo and redo the stitches often. It really was a pain in the but, let me tell you. But I think it was worth it!

Your welcome!

I say so too. Oh I know how it is some fabrics just seem to want to fall apart when you start. (I have pink chiffon I never use because it frays so easily.) It's amazing I'd love to see more pictures of it at different angles.
