Description a girl is born so young and sweet
can't even stand on her feet
to her parents she's their everything
one day she's gonna be queen

she dances around the room
my how their daughter has bloomed
they buy her a little present
her first tiara looks oh so pleasant

the palest skin I've ever seen
roses growing out of her cheeks
lay her head down on a pillow
tuck her in with the leaves of a willow

their little princess is growing up
making mischief and messin' up
they try to teach her for her future
but she'd rather go off on adventures

too young to understand
how to meet her people's demands
parents thinking of giving in
but they know they can't let her win

the palest skin I've ever seen
roses growing out of her cheeks
let her play down in a meadow
dress her up in the leaves of a willow

wakes up, gets dressed
she's happy more or less
looks out from her balcony
I don't really want to be queen

she sees something more
out in the distance
don't know what it is
but she don't want to miss it

so she runs away never looks back
they found her later dead on a muddy track

the palest skin I've ever seen
roses growing out of her cheeks
lay her head down on a pillow
cover her with the leaves of a willow
their little daughter, sweet and mild
got lost and died in the wild
they tried to teach her wrong from right
ended up lessening her life
