Description The title is derived from the song i am listening to right now. I dove my hand into a pile of cds and promised myself i would listen to whatever came out, out came Dido This song kind of suits this peice though, the words anyway.

Who makes you feel like i make you feel?

Credit goes to Courtney Brooke [link] as it is based off an amazing picture of hers, you must all go see her gallery!

Roughly 10 hours maybe, it's not that complete it stills needs alot of work and CC is appreciated
Paint used for creating lineart + shading
Photostudio used to simplify colours on original piece to help with adding shades to the lineart, also used to fiddle with colours.

EDITED-
Thanks to Squishee for the help! i added another 'layer' of dithering and i think it looks much better. I'm still not happy with it now that i look at it more though, it lacks the true skill so many inspiring artists have.

ABsolutely beautiful! The only thing I would suggest is to let loose on the hair a little, perhaps add more lighting and draw more falling strands because she looks like that layed back kinda person ^^

no no this is absolutely gorgeous. I think where your c+c lies is within the hair. That's about all you need to complete that thing. Especially since the face and -the lips the lips- are perfect. I love the color you used even though it seems like the hair doesn't like it very much. but as i look at it, this is what i percieve is wrong:

there are too many shades and you seem disorganized with your strands. It feels like you did the hair quickly- and placed some of the underlying colors sparatically. what you need to do to fix it, is first of all, get rid of that lightest color. okay, once you've done that, take where all that hair overlaps and add a darker shade underneath where your shadows are, it doesn't feel overlapish. Then what you want to do, is simplify that tangle of strands near the neck on the left side. Once you've done all that, take your lightest few colors and impliment your "halo" (indicated your light source) at around the forehead part of the head. Your light source seems to be coming from the right, so it would have a larger wedge of lightened hair at the halo on the right, and a bit smaller on the left, and in this picture it seems it should be fading towards the left, since the light source is so keenly on the right.

I would try to be alot more clearer if I could, but I don't have much time and I can't pull a picture example up for you while I'm coding my webbie. >.< new layouts suck and are cool at the same time I hope I helped

<3 Kris

no problem at all. ^_^ I love to give c+c, I've actually been trained to be critical upon work- i've taken constant art classes for 5 years so i've gotten the heck drilled out of my head with the mechanics of art. that's why i'm not taking an art class this year: i want to be more about my art as an expression instead of something that is being critisized. It is good to know and good to get better at the techniques and mechanics of art just because it lets your pictures look more... i guess true to art. It also helps you to contruct better peices that appeals to the eye better.

but anyway, getting completely off subject here, i have always appreciated c+c cause it helps me get better, and now that i'm in a position that i'm half good, i guess you could call it, i like to help other people get better too. kinda like that whole "pay it forward" thing.

Awesome work here. I know just how painstaking these kind of pieces can be, I've only ever tried it once and never really completed it. Great job, you must have unending patience.

Thankyou so much My patience will soon be stretched with another 3 of these, plus backrounds for all of them that have to be roughly 250 square :S
