Not what you expected?I replayed Assassin's Creed (Yes, I am that obsessed) and I thought Altair acted like a pimp. He pimp slaps guards and he has a bunch of assassins who follow him around everywhere like his ladies.
If you can't tell Altair's "ladies" are the rafik from Damascus and one of those informers who is constantly brown nosing Altair.

They don't so much follow me around as worship the ground I walk on. Although, one informer keeps asking me to do his job for him. I'm pretty sure it's one guy following me from city to city.
