some concepts!The colored "turnaround" is where I'm at with Swift's redesign so far. then I just started doodling her in some goofy poses.
This drawing style being used here is more in the direction I'll be going with the drawings for the comic pages.

Re-working Swift's design after putting more thought into her character has really made me fall in love with her. Previously I had a bit of a love-hate relationship with her. I liked what she stood for in my mind, but never really got to the point with the old story where she made any interesting or meaningful decisions. So what we saw of her was just wasn't that interesting. Reader's love and support for her ironically just compounded my disappointment with her. She was the star and symbol of the BBA world - yet wasn't up to my standards -I thought she could be more. After I stopped the old comic I never wanted to draw her and she's been the hardest character to revive and redesign. It's been a struggle. But I finally feel like I'm almost there with her, and really feeling the "closeness" that an author wants to be able to feel with their main character.
In that way she remains the symbol - a metaphor - for the entire project.

If someday you make a voice for Swiftkill, how would it be ? i imagine her sounding kinda like Bonnie Tyler xd, i think it would get along nicely with Swifty's personality

I think the hardest struggle I have with making a main protagonist good guy is that sometimes good guys are just boring. It's nice to have a straight up good guy once in a while that's pure, and not complicated. I think Miyazaki pulls off this character type very well. But sometimes it makes it hard to get into them, and suck people into liking them. It's a fine line to walk. And sometimes it's really hard when you know in your head that it's the type of character you want to look up to, and kind of view as a hero, or even the person you would like to be. And sometimes you worry about putting too much of yourself into a character, and get worried that you're just writing a fantasy story about yourself. At least those are the struggles I have. I'm sure other people do too.

I also totally know the feelings - right now I completely hate everything I do for my main character (of a comic no one has seen yet lol)
but love what he stands for in my head. *sighs* I just need to be able to get him down on paper consistently. >_<

So expressive! I'm just about to die looking at puppy Swift... I didn't even notice the markings changed color until I read the comments. That's pretty cool actually. lol the one with her shpowing off her butt X] I love all the different angles you have the legs and body contorted into. You've always had a really nice flow/ strong line of action that really makes your poses pop.
