When I originally watched the Harry Potter movies... only Ruper Grint (Ron Weasley) matched my mental image.This is, in my head, how Hermione looks. She's obviously a bit older. Perhaps this is when she returned to Hogwarts after the final battle?

Me too, not very many people matched up. Luna was great, so were most of the teachers, but harry looked really wrong. This is an epic portrail of hermione.

And I think that's why a large majority of readers are disappointed when movies come out based on their favorite books. We may chalk it up to plot deviation or acting failures, but I also think there is some subconcious quarrel between what we thought we should see and who the actors actually are.

Yes, I agree. I read the HP books after I had watched the first two movies, so my book characters were slightly affected because of that in the beginning. But it happens to me all the time with my other favourite books... Sometimes you think it's better not to have a movie, haha!
