*collapses*Good Lord Almighty, I did not expect to take almost two weeks to finish this. Take it from me, friends, try not to let what seems to be a simple project blow up into something bigger than you orignally had planned.
The amount of time taken aside, I am extremely pleased with how this turned out. I wasn't sure how well the G4 ponies would translate into G1 style, but after Twilight's test run, it works beautifully. Rarity and Fluttershy were a bit worrisome because the bases I used for them were originally Earth Ponies, but thankfully, everything worked out. I also thought it would be a nice touch to make the scene look like one of the backcards from the 1980s.
I'm just happy I'm finally finished with it and can move on.

They would have been such lovely G1s.
Rarity would probably be in the Mimic pose
Pinkie Pie in the Crumpet pose
Rainbowdash in the Firefly pose
Fluttershy in the Locket pose
Twilight Sparkle in the Glory pose.

Apple jack is based off the G1 Apple Jack from rescue at midnight castle
Twilight sparkle and twilight velvet are also based off the twilight from G1 rescue at midnight castle
Fluttershy is based off Posey from the mlp G1 and G2
Rainbow dash's personality and adventurous streak is based off the G1 firefly from rescue at midnight castle
And yeah we know that Spike is based off the Spike from the G1 mlp 'n' friends series

I run a pony page on FB called mylittlepony fan-world also a forum called www.littleponyfan-world.com I'm looking for an artist to help me with desgins for like the forums banners and pony posters and stuff for the FB page I have. Was wondering if you or someone you know would be up for the job I need doing? I've had some reports of abuse to the forum due to a banner that wasn't drawn by hand as because it had artwork hasbro used them selfs the banner was done using colour pages and photoshop my a girl I have helping out on the forum. Thanks!Β She was definitely easy when it came to choosing her ribbon color.Β I just swiped the same color her G1 ancestor had.Β
I also swiped Cotton Candy's ribbon for Pinkie and Posey's for Fluttershy.

Intriguingly, instead of using their counterpart's ribbon colors from earlier generations, I probably would have used their eye color. Β Still looks goof though.

Perhaps, but I think the colors worked pretty well.Β I know that, with Twilight, at least, between her coat and her tail, a purple ribbon wouldn't have showed up well.
