Great drawing of the Apple sisters with Apple Bloom's new cutie mark. The first thing I thought of when I first saw this was that Apple Bloom asked "Hey Applejack, not that ah got mah cutie mark, can ah now chew a stalk o' wheat in mah mouth just like you and Big Mac?"
As for AB thinking she may one day be too old to wear a bow in her mane, maybe Rainbow Dash can introduce her to Angel Wings and Flitter--both grown mares who still proudly wear their bows.

Apple Bloom: Hey, sis. Can I ask you somethin'?
Applejack: Yes, Apple Bloom?
AB: W-what will you do with your hat when you... you know...
AJ: Can ash you somethin' too?
AB: Uh, yeah?
AJ: What you gonna do when you'll get too old to wear that bow?
AB: Uh... That's a good question. Maybe ah will just throw it away?
AJ: Tell me why you would throw away something this precious to you?
AB: Wait! No! But... *sigh* Ah... Ah'll get older and... usually only fillies put this in their mane, not mares.
AJ: Why's that?
AB: Huh?
AJ: Why you find that mares can't wear a bow in her mane?
AB: Because foals do. Not adults? What does it have to do with your hat?
AJ: Ah'm too attached to that hat to throw it away. It's part of me. My identity. See where's ah'm going?
AB: Mmm. Oh! Yeah. So you're telling me ah should keep it because it's part of me.
AJ: Exactly. That's also the reason why you'll need to throw it away.
AB: Wait! What?!
AJ: You've grown so much those past years. You finally got your cutie mark after endless of attempts and errors. Time to move on now.
AB: Are you telling me ah will have to throw away somethin' you just said ah shouldn't?
AJ: Pretty much.

AJ: Well, a hat suits a mare. Ask Rarity.
AB: What if ah take one of those in the closet?
AJ: .....
AB: *smirk*
AJ: You want to sleep outside tonight? And the rest of the week?

AJ: Those hats are mine! Not your!

AJ: You got to find your own.

Later that day.
AJ: Applejack! Applejack! Ah found it! Ah found it!
AJ: Huh? Found what?
AB: TADA!!!!
Apple Bloom held a red ribbon roll brimmed straw hat in her hooves.
AB: That was Rarity's idea. And that way, I can still wear my ribbon while looking more mare-like! What do you think?
AJ: ...
AB: A-applejack?
Applejack looked at her sister with a tear in her eye.
AJ: Ah... Ah'm so proud of you lil' sister. Ah knew you could do it.
Apple Bloom beamed.
AJ: Now, if there is somethin' ah recommend you to do is ask Rare to make a couple more.
AB: Uh, why's that?
AJ: *grin* Trust me. That one on my nuggin' ain't the same as last week.
AB: Huh?
