I had a few questions if that's okay?
I did a little research on Furcadia (thanks to never having played it before) and was a bit confused by these custom 'dreams' that players can make.
As far as i'm aware the only characters you can make are furries so how do the characters work?
See I was a little disappointed that I had missed out on these beauties but didn't want to apply anyway if I didn't know at least the bases of the actual game it was set in.
I like to roleplay but it can take a while for me to decide if I want to take part if it's on a game I don't really know about xD because otherwise I feel like i'm a bit of a hindrance by asking so many questions xD
I'd love to apply for one of these pups but would you mind explaining a bit of the game to me first?

furcadia is a game where, while there are default 'dreams'/worlds in which you can play, socialize, or rp in..
It's MOSTLY designed around allowing the PLAYERS to create there own 'dreams'/worlds.
The way this works is, furcadia is built around a gridmap system. Aka, the world is a bunch of squares.
The players/creators of the dreams also must create there own art for the dream to make it look the way they desire.
For example.. Yes, there are a lot of furre dreams. The default avatars in the default dreams are also furres, it's just furcadia's system.
But players make dreams ranging from things like... Feral RP, like myself with Cascades, to which you can be a wolf or deer or bear, and rp as those creatures.
While some people make things like... Anime Fan dreams! There are Naruto dreams. Which means making naruto art to make the dream LOOK naturo.
Including the players. They had to make themselves/or pay someone else to make them, avatars that look naruto. So that when you come into the dream, you turn into naruto characters!
So basically, what you are as an avatar is completely dependant on what the dream is ABOUT. Because the dream makers choose what you turn into, and it's usually whatever suits the theme of the dream.
Aka. You might bea furre when you first pop into furc, but if you come to Cascades, you'll turn into a wolf.
The way the turning works is. Even though on your 'editor' you only have a list that consists of things like "Canine, feline, equine", when you go into a dream, the makers of that dream designate the options. For example. Being Canine turns you into a wolf. Being feline turns you into a cougar. being equine turns you into a deer.
They dont HAVE to sync up like that, though. The dream makers can designate Equine to turn you wolf, or... Canine to turn you cougar.Β
ANYWAYS. Yea. It just depends where you go! A lot of places will usually have a site linked in the "Arrival Message", to there dreams website. To which has rules and the like. Some dreams sites with also have a page to show what all there avatars are, and what you have to be to turn into it. Soem will even show you what changes what colors. "Aka what part of the avatar 'Bracers' changes. What part of the avatar 'fur' changes."
THAT BEING SAID. Just be because a dream doesnt HAVE a species as an actual avatar, doesnt mean you cant play it. (for example, you want to play a beaver but there is no beaver avatar).Β
As long as THAT dreams RULES allowed for a species like that. You can play as it! Most people will just put something in there "Description" that says there character is a beaver.

Luckily I know at least something about grid map systems so everything you explained seems to make sense to me xD
I downloaded Furcadia just to have a bit of a look at it and get a bit of a feel for it
So if I were to walk into your dream right now my avatar would turn into a wolf? That sounds pretty cool
So what would one have to do to join your RP even if they don't get to roleplay the pups?
Is there some sort of application I would have to think up and things like that?
(I'm really tempted to try for at least one pup though)

And I never mind explaining furcadia! Especially if it's a possibility at more rp! I'm a sucker for RP.
BUT UM! If you ARN'T accepted into the litter, joining as a different character doesn't require anything!
My favorite part about Furcadia is that because you can walk around, you can literally travel about the dream and FIND some one to RP with!
All you do is walk up to someone(Or whisper them/aka send a pm) and ask them for rp!
With my dream rules, actually, we are a "No Consent" Dream. This means, while technically you dont need permission to ask anyone for RP, or to just post at someone and hope for a reply,
No consent means if you post at someone/or are posted at, you have to reply.
This sounds scary and intimidating, but most of the time people wont force you into RP.
This rule is just inforced when it comes to IC scuffles! It helps prevent players from trying to avoid RPing in a situation that could cause there characters death, even if ICly there character instigated it.
Anyways point behind telling you this is if you're not shy it's a good way to jump into random groups to get rp!
But yea, even if you arn't accepted as a pup, my character + the pups + the rest of the group are essentially forming an actual pack!Β
You're more than welcome to come around as a different character and rp with us!
Or anyone else for that matter! You can have more than one character in a dream, and each can be any species.
Right now Cascades is alittle slow, since I just made it. It's mostly just my pack and one other pack.
So if you wanted to stick a character by us, and then check out one of the other 2 feral rp dreams you could do that too!
The only other two i'm familiar with are called "YellowStone" and "The Vale"
Just make sure wherever you go you read the rules! Every dream is different in terms of what they allow!

Unfortunately right now i'm trying to crawl my way back out of a writers block and i'm hoping some good roleplay partners can help me get out of it xDΒ

My problem is that I am actually very shy and it always seems a bit rude to butt in on someone else's roleplay so i'd much rather send a message and ask for permission before waltzing in out of the blue.
I'd very much like to join the pack though even if I don't manage to grab one of the pups
Would my characters port also change to a default one in your dream? I'm just wondering because i'm not all that good at making things like that by myself and I don't have the money to commission someone else to do it for meΒ
I'm always very conscious about rules and stuff so don't worry about that xD

Oh that's not a problem! A lot of people are that way.
As I said, even though it's POSSIBLE to just bump into a RP, MOST people don't. :3
So you're no different!
But yes by all means!
Keep in mind though, Drakov + his gang are a rather rated/brutal group.Β
Your character would be subjected to a lot of violence, or even death.
Not to say it WILL happen but it's definately a high enough possibility I prefer to warn people!
But totes you should come around!
Or if you wouldn't wanna RP with a character of that caliber I have others!

Most of furcadias commands are done by typing certain things in the main window.
PMing/Whispering players is by typing /name message
joining or summoning someone is `join or `summon
Also on the furcadia window, the ABCDEF tabs.
the B tab brings you to a bunch of icons that send you to different realms.
the AI button, is where most of the feral dreams are, including Cascades.
Though you can get to Cascades by joining me, if i'm say not on you can just go to the B tab, click AI, and look for Cascades!
AI is also where The Vale and Yellowstone are located.

Would death be avoidable by some measure? I may join, but I'm trying to select a good character first. Would they be less likely to kill a tiny wolf or a wolf with a twisted leg?

Injury only makes you more likely. As the characters depicted here/there pack, are based on survival and conquering. They constantly test there followers and push them to conquer any obstacle out in there way. This often puts characters in dangerous or even deadly situations. And those they believe are to weak to survive are kicked or killed.

It's a strange pack, actually. They're more of a .. army type, sort of style.Β
Joining isn't for the sake of Drak needing members. Joining actually requires a number of tests.
Drak + Vad beat down there newcomers, break them, and try to warp there mindset into the joinee.
If they can't handle the heat, they're deemed unworthy and are at risk of being killed.
Drak+Vad's mentally is based on survival, on overcoming obstacles and fears for the sake of striving and thriving.
They feel most are pathetic, and worthless. And that they themselves are immortal.
Not because they think they will live forever, but because they know the day they finally die they'll go down fighting to the end and take bitches down with them.
So anyone not on the same level as them is seen as weak and a waste of space and time and effort.
So essentially joining them is overcoming life and proving you DO have what it takes to live.

On another note - is this a roleplay? I would be interested in joining, if possible. I was in one similar to what seems like the theme of this one, but it died off and I miss it a lot.

That it is! It's in the online game Furcadia.
It's sort of a like.. Runescape and Minecraft, if you've heard of them. It's a gridbased map game, but it's pixeled. 2D.Β
All the RP locations are drawn up by the players, or.. they use Furcadias Β available default items.
For example, this RP/Group of mine is going down in the location I made with a friend, called Cascades. We used some defaults for the time but I intend to draw all new items for it in the future.
