Description
Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight is most famously known as the place in which King Charles the 1st was imprisoned before his execution.

For a castle that has lived through more than 800 years of service, including resisting a siege by the French and seeing off the Spanish Armada, it's also wonderfully well preserved.

I mean we have places similar, but they couldn't be a little more than 200 years old. This place has so many years to it.

Ooh, interesting. o.O

The history, I mean.

I think it's fantastic how you've managed to take this in pano mode... and how it's so unedited, as well. It gives it a more rawer feel, as if we were standing right beside you.

It's great how sunny it is, too. The colours are great and the atmosphere overall isn't too bad, either.

That was the site of one of my favourite Sealed Knot civil war re-enactments (back in the day).
My daughter saw her first shooting star there too (she was only little then).

Wow!!! They did re-enactments there? I never knew that!

My heavens yes!
As Charles was imprisoned there it seems to be crying out for them.
Much as I'm not sure that there were ever any real battles there that's never stopped the Sealed Knot from re-imagining some for entertainment purposes.
