Butterfly is a strange name for those, don't you think? that's because the name is a dyslexic pronunciation of Flutterby, ( which is exactly what they do and what they'd be called Β by almost anybody naming things) and for some reason enough people flipped it around and the name stuck.

the butterfly: a perfect symbol of starting over, a rebirth, a renaissance. After becoming grotesquely fat on overeating, and then building her own coffin, the wormlike critter crawls into what must see like a tomb, probably scared and depressed, and then, her body starts to dissolve and she must think this is really the end, but, then beyond all hope and Β imagining, she awakens to a sunny day, and she is more beautiful than anything she ever expected, and she thinks out loud (I've heard them say this) "This is awesome, my bitchin' bod is totally hot, and check it out you know what's even more rad--I can fly!"
