This is my finished version of Mankatu. i also used him in the-were-club collaboration: [link]line art can be seen here: [link]
This took forever to finish because of school and and work and im just irritated by that. especially since school dumps Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much work on you in the summer semester.

Nice, I like all the little details like the nipple ring and the tooth amulet hanging off his loin cloth. His crotch-cover is very well rendered too lol! My only criticism is that the background is very flat and saturated with color while the character has much more volume and muted tones, but with all of your school work I imagine you just got sick of doing the background... I do the same thing lol. Sometimes I just go rip high-res images off google image search and throw a color layer over the top to save myself the pain

thanks for your input. i tried to add those extra things to give him some kind of uniqueness. i dont too many were animals with piercings and such. the fundoshi that covers his crotch was ine of the new things i wanted to try. i saw how ingres painted the cloth in his neoclassical piece "the grand odelisque" while in art history class and tried to experiment with what my teacher said about how he achieve the effect. i though it shuold come out close to what ingres did andit won blend in with all the other earthy colors.
you hit it on the nail. im not good at backgrounds, plus i was pressed for time. i actiually did just throw the background there. i used a photo i took of trees and a flat(almost solid color) ground with some stone floor or wall or what ever it is from google. as flat and over saturated as it is, im just glad there is no white spaces.

The fur looks really nice! I also really like his mane and facial build.

i worked my hardest on the face. im trying to achieve a more chizeled look.

His face does look cool, I think it would be neat to see sketches of his face at different angles. Yeah and his mane is unique, I like lion manes with a different spin on them than just regular manes.
