Well, this is based on a real creature, but I felt that it would be more interesting to give it more aggressive features.

I guess I'll call it a "Zeek" or something.
Lifespan of 4 months maximum, matures within 2 weeks from hatching. Eggs come in a cluster, which are deposited into the host's body before death. When the host is eaten, the eggs are transferred to the next host-being the unfortunate predator which has foolishly eaten the previous one.
Upon hatching, it moves to the host's mouth region, where it consumes the tongue of the host, and permanently attaches itself there, becoming the host's new "tongue". It keeps the host alive by defecating - making the host "eat shit", literally.
As big as a human adult's hand- measuring from the fingers to the elbow at 2 months, this nasty bugger does not limit itself to just fish.
