Hard to believe he's still around and kicking after several games that ranged from awful (StH2k6) to somewhat good (Sonic Chronicles), including one "HAY GAIZ I THINK THEY GOT IT HALF-RIGHT THIS TIME!" (Sonic Unleashed/World Adventure)

June 23, 1991 was the release date for the very first Sonic game, so yes, it is.
