Description This is a mixed media picture I did; I had done the wicks in a gray crayon, then I used watercolor paint for the background (using some blues (including a metallic one) and white for the Hanukkah part, and reds, black, and greens for the Kwanzaa part), gouache paint for all the candles, acrylic paint for both candle holders (for Hanukkah, it's a menorah; for Kwanzaa, it's a kinara), and then I used some metallic watercolor for the yellow part of the flames and more gouache paint for the orange part of them. The menorah isn't shown with a base because I had already painted the candles, before then, I had painted the background, but before then, I had drawn the wicks. I had, however, saved the flames for last.

I hope there is nothing wrong with how I did the kinara, though... I kind of based it off a typical layer cake and ziggurat. If there is a problem with it, I'll delete it and throw it away upon finding out.

In both holiday cases, the whole candle holder is only lit in full on that holiday's last night. Hanukkah is an eight-day holiday, but the menorah holds nine candles, including the shamash, which is the helper candle (called so because it is always the first to be lit and it is used to light however many candles are to be lit, based on the night's ordinal number... e.g. two candles on the second night... okay, three if you include the shamash). Kwanzaa is a seven-day holiday, taking a whole week after Christmas.

This year, Hanukkah's last night is on Kwanzaa's first. In short, Hanukkah ends and Kwanzaa begins on the same night, so I finished it up and scheduled it on Christmas Eve (and the sixth night of Hanukkah).
