Description
One girl in a sea people:
No one seems to see
The pain that she hides.
Her face is blank;
Her eyes downcast...
She walks slowly,
Trying not to feel the pain.
Another day nearly gone-
She leaves the school building
And walks home alone,
Just like she always does.
No one sees the tear-stained face
Left behind by years of hate.
She again goes back to the pain,
The bruises, the sleepless nights.
All she wants is love,
But that’s the one thing she can’t find.
She opens the door,
Braces herself for what’s coming-
And then begins the yelling,
The beating, the misery.
Tears flow with the blood.
People hear the cries,
But it’s too late.
When morning comes she’ll be gone
To a place where she’s safe;
Where no one can hurt her,
Hate her, beat her, break her.
She’ll fly to a place where she’s loved;
She’ll be safe in the arms of God.
