Did I forget to mention that a mature Spirit isn't tied to its tree the same way a young Sprite is?
Once they're old enough they can move about freely, but they lose a bit of the connection with their source of magic and are much weaker. If they go to far away they loose their magic completely. Many never leave their trees or rivers or mountains etc for just this reason.
