This is my signature painting for the "Forgotten Heritage series of paintings.

I drove as an Over-the-Road Trucker for a couple of years. On my journeys across the United States, I saw numerous examples of abandoned places and things. Forgotten and neglected these relics of the past have a history of their own. It saddened me to see how old family homes were left to the elements and time, or how old vehicles were discarded and forsaken as rust and decay slowly faded them into nothing. Old farm equipment and even boats sit derelict across the vast countryside and shores of America. These places and things are no longer of value to anyone except for the wild beasts and birds who take up shelter in them.

In memorial of the past and so as to remember our heritage and from whence we came, I undertook a series of 12 paintings. “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So let these images speak to you about the past.
