oil on canvas. 1 of 2.These two self portraits depict two sides of my personality, the butch and the femme, or as femme as I get. What is considered butch or femme, masculine or feminine, both exist in varying degrees within everyone because they are simply arbitrary catagories. Gender is a continuum and no one is entirely on one end or the other, and I use myself as a case study here.
