Objective: Crimson Empire - Part 1 The Harbinger

Suddenly a hand grabbed my arm and I reacted automatically. I stomped on the foot I could see near mine – the owner grunted from the pain – then went to hit whoever it was in the face with my fist. Only my hand never got there as another hand enclosed over mine.

“Enola.”

In disbelief I looked up at the voice’s owner and snatched myself out of his grasp and started to turn away to leave. My mind refused to think other than ‘no not again’.

“Enola!” He repeated, frowning as he grabbed at my arm again.

I tried to shake him off but in a move too quick to follow he just threw me over his shoulder and stomped up the stairs.

“Put me down you neanderthal fang-face.” I snarled at him and thumped him in the back. I heard him grunt from the impact.

“I’ll give you neanderthal fang-face.” He growled softly then slapped me hard on the rear end. Leaving his hand resting on my rump, his other held me in place across the back of my thighs.

I let out a squeal of surprise and pain that didn’t hurt for long.

“Quiet or you’ll wake the neighbours, Enola.” Varrik ordered in that quiet rich voice of his. His hand was still resting on my backside.
