Description My latest creation! It's my own personal acoustic bass guitar that I had picked up at a pawn shop. Prismacolor colored pencil on wood once again.
This is an old picture. Since this picture was taken, this bass has been strung and is completely playable.
It also sounds pretty amazing, in my opinion.
OCTOBASS!!!!!

There's 3 coats of a spray poly finish on it.

Thank you! Wood is amazing for any oil based medium. Whether it be paint, pencil, or pastel.

This is incredible.. Very cool..Awesome choice of artwork btw. Props. My question to you is did you sand it down prior to starting the artwork..I did a piece for a friend of mine on his Washburn acoustic-but I used paint. I never thought about color pencils because I assumed that the glossiness of the finish wouldn't take the color pencils.

Yeah, I sanded it all the way down to the bare wood. And I'll tell you what, it was the biggest pain in the ass ever. Took about 4 hours, and I even had help from my dad. Towards the end, he busted out his heavy-duty industrial grinder to chew through the finish faster; but it came at a cost, if you look real close you can see chatter marks. But don't fret: Not all guitars have a heavy duty finish like this particular one. My snow owl guitar took only 15 minutes to sand down to the bare wood.
