Felix is a generally affable individual who is often open to conversation and interaction with just about anyone; He is genuinely interested in people and rarely asks or offers questions or praise if he doesn't mean it. The professor is quite confident in his skills and knowledge, and though not boastful, he is one to take any opportunity to use said skills. He can however be rather sly and teasing to others, especially when in a good mood - he has no problem with causing others embarrassment, though he usually only does so in private. Felix takes great pride in his country as well as IHMA, and will have no hesitation in joining events or the like if related to either. Even when well acquainted with kin, he often keeps a rather deferential and formal way of speaking, paired with calm mannerisms. When on the subject of his passions and interests however, he can be somewhat exuberant and almost domineering, becoming argumentative in some cases. Superstitious as a house wife, if you see him doing something odd around the academy, it's probably one ritual or another to deter whatever malice he is trying to prevent. Overall an amiable character, the medical professor can be seen walking about with an ever present subtle smile.
✪ History: Hailing from illegitimate bloodlines connected to Sir Richard Steele (ca. 12 March 1672 – 1 September 1729), a man who had been enrolled in the Household Cavalry of Combermere Barracks, his family as always been associated to the military in one way or another. Through the centuries warfare had changed and the dragoons were no longer in service; thus his family began to deviate more towards the supportive functions of the military career, namely field medics and other such clinical professions. Such knowledge was of course lost with the arrival of the World War, but stories are passed on, especially so in times of darkness - Many generations later, Felix was born to Mary and Geoffrey Steele in the States of America, and today continues this legacy in Great Britain.

His family is rather well-off, funds stemming from old family inheritances and their connections to the military and their medical field of operations. Exuberantly curious as a child, he would spend days on end in his father's study, reading whatever rare books he could get his hands on. As an only child he was showered with attention, though with it too came responsibility; His father had high standards in regards to his kin, extending even to acquaintances whom were often each evaluated and accessed as he saw fit. Though Felix had inherited his father's serious attitude, the amicable, social part of him that resembled his mother had objections to such prejudiced social networking. As he grew older and more individualistic, dinners with the family became silent, lest another argument erupted.

Spending some time away from his family to attend medical school in Great Britain did the lad good; he lost most of his teenage stupidity and smoothed out some of the jagged edges, the hard work and study making him appreciative of the things he had and believed in.Furthermore the education there was rather superior to anything available in the S.A; he found it curious, but dismissed it as mere heritage. He found himself to be rather adept at the profession, and delved further into it - enrolling into a quick-grad program he graduated the medical institution after 6 years of studies at the age of 22. By the time of his graduation, several civil wars were in full swing in his homeland. His father was retired by then as a field medic, but continued his efforts in local hospitals. The tension between he and Felix still lingered, but mellowed into a mutual understanding of how disagreements were simply differences in their character and that was just how it was going to be between their two personalities. With this acceptance their family seemed to grow closer again, and, as to follow his father's footsteps, Felix enlisted as a field medic for the S.A. military.
Three years into his service, his thirst for the more technical aspects of medicine began to move him. He'd seen neighbors killing neighbors, childhood friends on the other side of the front lines. Though unscathed, the psychological pressure poisoned him slowly, and he looked for an escape. It was his father who had provided him such an opportunity then; a medical researcher at a facility in Great Britain.

As much as medicine is a cure, it can also be considered a body of knowledge that is most familiar with killing humans. The years of military service helped dampen the reality that his expertise would be used to kill people, but it still cast a shadow over his moral alignment. An yet, his love for the medical field itself fueled by curiosity pushed him deeper into the plethora of workings in biological weaponry and warfare. Caustic molds that would eat living flesh, steam-powered disasters that released carcinogenic spores, viruses that disintegrated the host from the inside out - though still primitive, the horrors were lurking, deep in the bowels of the military laboratory - and Felix too began to bend to the cynicism that, yes, these were all things for the demise of another being. Playing god wasn't without consequence, however; experiments would go horribly wrong on occasion, and such an occasion Felix was present for. As the valves burst and high-pressured vapors steamed a good number of the personnel alive, no one could make out what was happening in the deadly mist of white. Something splashed and Felix covered his face instinctively - hot searing pain followed as his skin began to bubble and peel all along his arm and his face. Screaming with pain he fell to the ground, and between tears he could see others that were not so fortunate as he - recognizable was not a word for their complexions. Slowly he had crawled away, guilt burrowing its tendrils into his soul.

It was time for something new - A fresh start. In conjunction with his personality and people-skills, he decided to pursue teaching - it allowed him to continue to be close to medicine he so loved, but took him away from the real-time horrors of war and genocide. Thus he found his way to IHMA, at first starting out as just the Medical teacher - after a few years however he rose in rank to head of NYA. His father passed away from age the same year, and the professor keeps a picture of him on his office desk.

✪ Why do you want to teach at Iron Horse Military Academy?
" I believe the academy does good work here - its standards are high for both the faculty and the students. It reinforces the give and take of knowledge from both sides, and I think collaboration is a great first step into innovation. Gives a bit more hope for the future too, if you want to be grandiose about it."

✪ What do you think makes you qualified to teach at a school of this caliber?
" I prefer my work and feedback to do the talking. But I do know that I can guarantee that my output is my 100% all the time, every time, and I expect no less from the facility in turn. If you're going to do something, do it right the first time, or don't do it at all and give the pleasure to someone else."

✪ What are your intentions after teaching at Iron Horse? Aspirations?
" Hmm....Can't say I've yet a clear view of what lies beyond. I can just as easily picture myself teaching until I retire. If the Academy will keep me that long. *chuckles* "

✪ Quirks: Rooting through his cabinets is a big no-no.
Values personal space - He'll only get close if it's related to the lesson or medical situation at hand, nothing more.
Has no problem with demanding or spoiled personalities, he likes the challenge actually, but is certainly not one to give in.
Knows a hell of a lot of wives tales and enjoys looking for more. Also very superstitious - he actually carries some salt around with him at nearly all times.

✪ Trivia: > His father is British, mother is American.
> Bit of a coffee diva.
>Secretly a sadistic little kitty.
> Likes children.
> Almost never takes his gloves off - if his shirt sleeves are rolled up, they usually are never folded past the second half of the forearm (right before the crook of the elbow, basically).
> Just because he's smiling doesn't mean he's not angry. He'll subtly try to hurt you. Quietly. 'Accidentally'. Unless he's really pissed then it's a slew of angry words and desk slamming.
> More will be added as they come www
