Thanks. Mind you, with the length of time it takes, I can understand why a lot of artists go for a quick-and-dirty Photoshop colouring...

I think it takes a similar amount of time to colour digitally if you shade it, add a shadow etc. (with a mouse, anyway)

If you do it PROPERLY, sure. The number of badly flood-filled images I've seen says to me most people DON'T... (I mean, this picture alone has probably taken me about 12, 14 hours, and a quick floodfill and "burn tool" shading wouldn't take THAT long.)

Very lovely. One thing bugs me about it though: her mane's coloration is very close to that of the wall behind her, making it look like it kind of blends into the wall. I don't know how you can fix that though..save perhaps darkening the mane a bit.

Granted, it could be as different as night and day on the original and the scanner just decided (as they seem to 'love' to) to suck out some of the color. Naturally you're the only one that can judge that

My scanner does indeed hate me. I noticed it was going that way a bit myself - was going to put some sort of wallpainting in originally, but didn't want that to draw attention away from her. Maybe I'll try desaturate it, or something...
