From a distance, the Little Bow Peep like character looks like Disney's Rapunzel... obviously not the case close up, however. Still, the rendering on the left does bear some means of resemblance.

Hey, Kristen! I saw these on the board outside the studio, I love the line weight you put into that middle character. Didn't know you had a dA till I saw your stuff in the SVA club thingy. Cool that I found you!
I was thinkin' about taking that character design class next semester, what do you think about it so far?

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely be checking it out. Also, what day does it meet? (granted that it'll be the same next sem too)

Not on this version, but we might be doing full-color versions eventually, I'm not sure! We're working on layout drawings right now.

I really like how they look! It reminds me of Belle (I think that's her name) from Beauty and the Beast and the guy (Gustov?) only she's cuter and he's less weird.

Well, what really helped (forced) me to get it was somebody looking at it and saying, "nope, too realistic. Pump it up another notch."
In all seriousness, what really gave me an aha! moment was when my teacher told us to make our drawings "er." If your character is skinny, make him skinnier. Since Katrina is supposed to be "plump as a partridge", I made her plumper, bustier, and made her tiny waist, hands and feet even tinier. Then I took all the fussy little details in my first sketches, like all the bows and frills and strands of hair, and got rid of them.
Hope that helps! I'm still learning this concept myself

That's a very good, and simple, tip. I could definitely use that to make my characters less realistic.
