I remember a missionary asking me once if I wanted the guidelines to life. If I wished for instructions.
I laughed inside, while politely telling him why I don't.
I don't want to be told how to get from A to B. I want to find it myself. I want to stumble. I want to make mistakes and amends. I want to break apart and fall to me knees. And I want to pick myself up and walk again. Without instructions. I want to take pride in the lessons I found myself. For me, it's part of what makes my life beautiful. Not knowing. Not having my life mapped out by someone else's ideals. I'll find where I'm supposed to be. And of course I'll fall. I'll make mistakes. But that's all part of living.
