Edit: It has come to my attention that this isn't showing up in people's Dev messages, so I'm doing an update in hopes that it will show up now...

Commissioned for of himself as a "beautiful emperor who sat on the throne." This is actually the 3rd commissioned work I've done for ~matsubokkuri so I felt it was time I actually post one of them in my DA gallery.
This one was lots of work but still very enjoyable to do.
Painted completely in photoshop.
No Critique desired.

I find that when painting armor (or anything shiny for that matter) it works the best if you create a new layer over the finished painting and change the blending options to 'hard light'. Then using bright and dark colors you can really give the armor a shiny look with just a few strokes of a brush.

The detail in this piece is absolutely staggering. The texture, lighting, colourisation are all top quality here. Bravo.

Completely fantastic!!!! I really love his clothing, particularly the red cloth and the gauntlets for the legs/feet (I don't recall what they are called). All those little details are wonderful too like the designs on the crown. I look forward to seeing more stuff
