Something a little different this time.
I've recently gotten into the Marvel universe (started by watching the movies). And the urge to do some fanart wouldn't leave me alone. I'd like to paint Loki, Black Widow, and a few others, but we'll see if I ever get around to it.
Painted completely in photoshop.
No Critique desired.

Who doesn't love Iron Man? The Hero who wasn't either given his power (like Captain America) by others or just simply had it from birth (like Thor) or was trained by others from young age (like Black Widow), but who made himself an armor that made it possible for an untrained guy to keep up with all those other great heros!
As for this piece? Damn, this is well done! Good proportions, great colors, great metallic effect etc.
How long did it take you till you could crank out pieces such as this one?

It took me awhile to complete. I did it in my spare time between paid work... and I remember I really struggled on getting the armor right. The shoulders and arms I found especially difficult. So maybe about a month to finish? It was a long time ago now and I don't really remember the exact amount of time.

Nice work! I understand the need to sell toys, but I still wish they'd stuck with the Mark III as Tony's main suit. It has the cleanest design and most familiar colour scheme. The recent designs have been way too busy.

You know the comic characters that I think would look insanely good in your style? StarFire or Raven from Teen Titans. The way you do your hair and details would just blow those two out of the water. StarFire wears metal so I can just picture all of the shiney now.

This is amazing by the way. I love the Iron Man suit, it looks so... Intimidating I think is the word. But I'd have to say he's my second favourite, after Daredevil. But yeah. There's usually something after the credits

Well I've been enjoying the movies quite a bit (and I've been watching Agents of SHIELD) but it's been a really nice change to all the anime stuff I used to watch and read. But I admit I'm also quite enjoying the merchandise side of things, especially the Marvel Hot toys figures.
But I'd like to start reading some of the comics themselves too, but I've been so busy this fall, that I'll probably leave that for the winter when I have more free time.

The movies are really awesome, and the line of merchandise is definitely a bonus to go with that. I've got a ton of posters.
The comics are great depending on what you get. I'd recommend Marvel Adventures Avengers as a starting point because that's a lighthearted universe that isn't bogged down with the history of the main continuity. The characters are still essentially the same, but there aren't as many books or confusing backgrounds to keep track of.
