My name is John Manning Allen.

My father is John Lobdell Allen.

He died at the age of 52. He was a crack head, a dishonest minister, a protective brother, a kindhearted family man.

He was many things. But all of his misdeeds were simply part of a war that was going on inside his head. I never knew much about him because my mother took me away from him when he was at his worst. I probably wouldn't be here had she not shielded me.

Drugs are a hell of a way to go down. His life was one lesson. Hopefully, I'll see him again, when I die.

And the first I'm going to say to him is.....
