Description
A revision of an older unseen piece a year ago that I didn't like anymore, so did a shift in tone. It is a piece that is tied to the world of Project Erebus, albeit a generic one set in this world.

Both characters (left and right respectively) back then were supposed to be humanoid equivalents of a sea otter and a fallow deer respectively in the original piece. I've ditched the whole concept of specific phenotypes for pretty much the entirety of theriankind and made their 'species' less rigid/defined (technically speaking, everyone's a hybrid of a mammal species, alive or not); well... there are still traits that I transferred from the original, since its a remake and I tend to copy a template of an animal and spruce things up.

Speaking of rambling off on style... Both are meant to be an unintentional duo. In the original, things were a lot passive and lighter, yes, they did not hold weapons or arms of defence. But they were associated with the ICRU (International Consortium for the Research of the Unknown; basically a SCP Foundation equivalent), which has been a major component of the story. The otter is a civilian researcher and associate to a local branch, whereas the deer on the right is a senior researcher.

In case of what they're defending or going against, you could interpret it as a monster of sorts or some rogue group. There isn't much story to it and backgrounds are too much for my smol brain, since its just a remake of what came before.
