Well, I decided to post something unrelated to Pokemon FF on my Da account for once, so here is one of my very awesome techniques I have developed. This form of art that I call semi-3D is done using only photoshop and mostly with the Lasso, Paintbrush, and Paint Bucket tools.Inspired by the great art by Ken Sugimori.
I will be making a more detailed tutorial soon (hopefully, I suck at tutorials) and it will show you how I do it.

Actually, I intended to imitatr their style, that is where I got the idea from. I especially admire Shizurow's 3D style.
