History: Dani was born to a small espurr family deep within the Evergreen Forest. Here, a small bustling community resided in the safety of the treetops. The Isle of Druids had throughout time been seen as some sacred land, an the upkeep of the various sacred sites landed on the community that resided there. Dani was a curious sort who was always following their parents around, trying to help and copy what they saw their parents do. More often than not, she was a hindrance instead of a help, as a small child just doesn't always have the capacity to help in the ways they would think. As she grew up, Dani became better, and found themselves caring for a small area called the Dryad's Grove. Here was a site that was known as a graveyard. Many of the trees here were grave markers for those who had passed long ago, and now those trees protected the village. Their care was always of the upmost importance.

The area was a nature preserve for the wildlife, and any and all who resided in the Grove had the protection of those who once walked the lands. Dani's job was to make sure the area stayed well kept without disturbing the wildlife. Water the plants, trim a branch or two that might be dangerous. She would always talk to them, to the ones who resided in the trees. It didn't matter the topic, it was just something they had always done. Tell about the day, the games she played, or even if she had been bullied. Just casual one sided conversations that helped passed the time as they cared for the Grove each day.

It was one fateful night that a light storm turned for the worst. Lightning danced and flashed across the sky, and eventually hit directly onto one of the village houses. The houses, made of wood, were quick to go up in flames, the people of the community rushed to try and put out the fire, but it was spreading too quickly in such a dense natural area. Brush and tree alike started catching ablaze, and the fire spread like... we a wildfire. Dani and their family were on the run, trying to outrun the blazes that danced around in the night. Though the fires were growing faster than many could run. Dani felt themselves getting pushed by their parents as a tree started to fall, landing in the spot where she once was, and where they were now standing. The scattering debris of the tree however, did not miss Dani, leaving the small espurr with a searing pain as their eye was caught by a flaming branch.

Shocked and in pain, Dani knew they had to keep running. It was hard, but the Grove was close. Whatever barrier or sacred power was protecting the Grove might protect her as well. There was only one way to really find out. There really was nothing else she could do at this moment. Dani used the last of their power to collapse onto their favorite tree, exhausted, they merely passed out, the blood from their wound dripping onto the roots of the sacred tree. The last thing Dani remembers of that night was a slight glow coming from said tree.

When Dani later awoke, she found herself laying in someone's lap. A soft hum was coming from this person, and all the pain she had previously felt seemed to have just magically disappeared. They tried to get up, their vision seeming off and their head starting to pound the moment they tried to move. The same soft voice hushed and calmed them, calling them by their name. How odd. Dani felt such a comfort from this person even though they were so unknown, something felt familiar. She did her best to look up, and it was a loving motherly gaze that met her gaze. A familiar trinket, a mask that hung from one of the Sacred trees was sitting gently on this woman's head.

The confusion in Dani's face caused the older woman to chuckle, introducing herself as Alarune, a former Whimsicott and Druid of this grove. A mixture of Dani's blood and need for help had called her back to this world as a Yamask. She had listened to Dani every day from her tree, watching the young espurr grow. She gently started petting at Dani's hair and comforted her as she started to cry. The shock of the fire and the loss of her parents settling in.

Time passed and Dani came to see Alarune as a mother figure, helping her grow accused to her new time here. The damage to the Isle was vast, and much of the sacred grounds were destroyed. There were a few surivivors, but everything was lost. There was a barrier that protected certain small areas around the various Groves, so anyone who made it to one was saved from the fire. The damage was too much to try and recover though, many were thinking of trying to leave the Isle and find new homes or work in the outside world. Several Rescue teams had been assigned to the area to help with the distress. They were helping transport what possessions people had left, suggesting places to work or move to, and handing out supplies like food and clothing to those who needed it.

Dani had ran into one of the Rescue teams looking for advice themselves. The tall Espeon she ran into gave her a few pointers on where she could go, or mentioned that she could go join any of the guilds back at Ethovalan. Dani, being curious, asked if their rescue team was one that was available to join. It was, and after some talking with Alarune, Dani decided the two of them would join their team to further help others in need.
