" Our half-cat, half-bird friends possess a lot of different features in colors and forms, but there is also some similarities.
The first family is the most common : Eaglegriffin. They usualy have an athletic body and are oftenly related to strength.
Then we have Hawkgriffin. they can be recognized easily by their complet lack of fluff from their feathering. They’re agile by nature, compared to the average. I’m going to make some ponies grumpy by this statement, but until today, hawkgriffin own the highest flying top speed records ever registered.
The last and rarest are Owlgriffin. They have the most peculiar body which make them easy to spot. They possess large ears and deep black eyes, their plumage is more dense and most of all, their talons are composed differently, 2 front fingers istead of 3, and 2 thumbs. Through the ages, owls were oftenly refered as wise advisors and knowledge keepers. Oh and yeah, they can rotate their head 270 degrees … creepy !

Just a question, i noticed that the warrior class like the Squall is represented mainly by the Eaglegriffins, but the different types of Griffons can choose any kind of training or are they stuck within the "status box"? You know, big guys are warriors, fast guys assassins and the weird looking guys are magicians. Cuz i must say, i love the idea of an Owlgriffin Squall, like this few words , 2 cool 4 life , eye scarred , veteran war-fighter type of dude in an arctic variant of the Squall armor kicking butt for king n' country , not working in anything myself but my imagination runs wild.

Well each have predispostion to certain roles, but anyone can excel in anything. Only the Storm-caller order is complex to access

Is there a specific name for the hawk part of the Hawkgriffin? As in what kind of hawk it is?

So the hawk half of your griffin isn't even a legitimate breed? I honestly know I've seen this breed before. You can't seriously imply that it is non existent.

Eagles on the left and owls on the right are original characters from tumblr, but since I haven't found any hawks I randomly came with that one ~

I'm a little curious, but do hippogriffs exist in your canon and if they do what do they look like?

Porbably more exotic birds for the top, and deers for the rear.
They're actualy part of the Cervide Enclave, another civilization lost in giant forests.
