Rikas family wasn't very stable, from a young age her mother had affairs with other men and was an alcoholic.When Rika was 8 years old her parents filed for a divorce, she stayed with her father while her brother, Tanaka, stayed with her mother. Tanaka treated his younger sister very rudely and unacceptably, his friends even attempted to abuse her while he watched and laughed before her father punished them.

After moving out with her father, they faced financial issues. This caused her father a whole deal of stress however he didn't want his daughter to be involved so he deceived her into thinking everything was fine.Until she noticed her father picking up alcohol habits, she didn't allow this to continue and immediately snapped her father out of it.Her father was motivated to keep his daughter happy and safe so he worked hard finding an average paying job, a telephone salesperson.This job gave him enough payment to pay for their necessities and occasionally gifts for Rika.

During middle school Rika was always alone, she isolated herself because she didn't want to interact with anyone, she felt like it would develop problems.In this time, Rika didn't need anyone apart from her father so she felt no need to make any friends or for people to like her.One day while Rika was walking home, she spotted a corner shop of some kind, to her surprise it wasn't a shop but in fact a PC cafe. She decided to explore and find out what this so-called PC cafe is.When she entered she saw people, not interacting with each other, just like her. Upon her fascination she decided to try it out, she started off by playing online games, In there she met many friends and had made herself an alternative persona.
