My entry for the Smash Newcomer contest at . Wish me luck!So here we have our Newcomer, Medusa, in a 4-way brawl with Pit (of course!), Samus Aran, and Toon Link. So why Medusa? Because Smash Bros. needs more female characters and more villains, especially after taking out Mewtwo last time. Medusa is both for the price of one!
Here we see the Queen of the Underworld using her Final Smash: Smash of The Titans! Never one to let her rival goddess, Palutena, outdo her, Medusa uses a Smash Ball to fuel her own giantess transformation. As Titan Medusa, our vile villain is a totally towering terror! For as long as the attack lasts and she reverts to her normal size, anyway...
Oh, and of course all characters copyright/trademark Nintendo; artwork copyright me.

As you can see from the submission date of this artwork, I'd thought of GTS Medusa entirely on my own long before "Kid Icarus: Uprising" was released. Which only made it even cooler to fight a much, much bigger version of Medusa than this at the end of the game. Great minds think alike, right, Sakurai?

wait if this is medusa then samus cant fight her.... samus is a woman and women were banned from fighting medusa because the curse doesnt work on women so it would be dumb easy to cut off her head....

Hmm...I didn't know that! And I like Greek mythology...but in the end this image is just supposed to be of the Kid Icarus version of Medusa if she appeared as a playable character in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. 4 alongside Samus.
Hey, it makes me wonder why goddess Palutena didn't just kill Medusa herself then...why did she send Pit if Palutena is immune to becoming stone? Eh, video game logic...after all there's no explaination for why this Medusa is a giantess either!

No problem; I appreciate the knowledge about the real-life legend. I truly didn't know that part before...and it would make for a cute bit of characterization if I ever get around to writing that Kid Icarus story I've got in mind. So thanks!

Yeah, her dress...I think if I ever color this one it'll be hard to remember what's part of her flowing skirt, or her leg, or the mountains...

I appreciate your even thinking about coloring my art for free, but I really couldn't let ya; I'd have to pay you somehow. No good deed unpunished and all that.
Alas, money is super-tight right now. I had to cancel my cable and my cell-phone service. I'm only keeping my Internet for now because I'm trying hard to look for freelance work across the country this way. Actually, you can't even physically go to your local businesses and fill out an application anymore, even if you want to...it's all online only now!!
So no, I don't have Photoshop either...but I want it bad! So it really is simpler than it looks? Hmm, maybe there's a demo Photoshop version I can download...and I can grab a "For Dummies" book from the library...

Adobe's website has a 30 day trial version - you should check it out! If you're looking for work, Photoshop is a very marketable skill.

I think I like video games a little TOO much.
My favorite series is Metroid, starring Samus Aran. Which is why I squeezed her into this picture too. (She's the gal in the spacesuit on Medusa's right arm, firing missles.) Metroid..sci-fi action and shootin' aliens! Gotta love it!

No, I hadn't. You mean something like their Capcom Vs. Whatever, err, Vs. Nintendo I guess?
Hmm, I'm of two minds on that. On the one hand, I like to play all forms of Mega Man, and I love the character designs and pesonalities of the Capcom fighting games.
But on the other, I royally suck at any "traditional" fighting game. I only succeed at Smash Bros. due to the simple controls...
But Samus vs. Chun Li would be so entertaining.
