Well, I HAD to see this one close up too!Β Very beautiful in the full view, Keith!Β I think these are my favorite type of butterfly!Β A wonderful capture with those purple blooms!

They've been laying eggs on the parsley and dill that I planted just for that purpose...I saw the first little caterpillars yesterday.

I have been wrangling caterpillars all my life...first time I remember was when I was about 5 and we raised aΒ couple of Monarchs.Β I guess it's tradition!

Really!Β I have never done that.Β I mean when I was a kid we used to find a chrysalis from time to time on trees and my mom would let us get them down; they were usually on a twig on a branch.Β Then we would have a jar and put grass in it and the twig and bring it in the house and check it every day.Β When it transformed and was all dry we would take the jar outside so the butterfly could fly away.Β It was great!Β
