Description The Triadultus have only made contact once. Despite extreme reserve and secrecy in every other manner, their delegates arranged to meet in person at the First Contact Summit.

Most of what can be postulated about the Triadultus is gleaned from exhaustive analysis of the physiology and behaviour of the delegates. Notably they appear to be a colonial organism comprised of three distinct individual organisms. One organism comprises the base or "foot" of the body, and appears to be whole despite a physically intrusive interface with a lightweight synthetic trunk. The two other partners in the entity appear to be cut down to a head and a single arm each.

Communication at the summit was sparse and confused. The Triadultus, despite initially appearing confident, became disoriented with their surroundings and uncomfortable with the human delegates. Finely tuned questions and discussions-points from the Earth Plenipotentiary Peace Commission evidently disturbed the Triadultus representatives; revealing they were under the belief and experience that they physically resembled the homo sapiens they were meeting in every apparent measure. The summit was cut short. No followup communications with humanity have occurred since.

i really like your style of drawing, the short story you have given also gives a lot to reflect appone in all that "under the belief that they physically resembled the homo sapiens they were meeting in every apparent measure" as both a metaphor you create of the situation and also a point of view another life in the universe have on us. brilliant.Β Β

Is your art based on a book at all? Because the names and designs bring back memories of a rather good book I read awhile back but have forgotten the name of.

Wait, what does it mean when it says they thought they resembled the humans? Did it think it looked like a 4 limbed, 1 headed vertebrate mammal, or did it think it was talking to a cyber-augmented 3-being colonial organism?

The Golden Age-era Mars Odyssey short story was written partially as a reaction to a challenge in the sci-fi community: Β Portray an alien that thinks as well as a man, or better than a man, but not like a man thinks.Β

This is that. Β Marvelous work.

I might be overthinking this, but I get the idea that the Triadultus was perhaps also quite freaked out by the humans. Not their physical appearance, but maybe our own style of thinking struck it as fundamentally alien?

That could definitely be a part of it! Β Humanity will certainly speculate about it for a long time after.

I suppose talking with the equivalent of disembodied limbs would freak anyone out. I wonder though, are we the first sapients they've encountered? If not either the whole galaxy is populated by colonial organisms and the reaction is at least a little understandable or theΒ Triadultus are insular prudes not worth associating with.Β

As amazing as your drawings are I think its the little stories that really intrigue me. They are far more intricate and peculiar than my own imagination. But I guess that's the point, you don't have to draw the delegates and their reactions, we can easily imagine them. Draw the strange creature, tell us the story and then let our imaginations fill in the blanks and create the moods and feelings that are unique to every viewer.

Great work as always. I anxiously await the next chapter

This I feel is the quintessential creepy alien contact situation. A tall lumbering multifaceted being that no one can really physically relate to, therefor scaring the crap out of everyone present. With the fact that it's revealed something so unrelatable looking was under the belief that it wasn't; in an attempt to be deceptive for mysterious, perhaps devious reasons. Then backed out suddenly when it knew that that fundamental condition for it meeting in the first place wasn't in play, nor was it in any other past (unofficial) ventures. Something from outer space that is that bizarre looking in size and shape, with an apparent strange understanding and perception of it's surroundings, in the same room as me, would make me uncomfortable.

Fascinating alien, I love how original artwork always is!! Very inspiring work. Β I like the idea of an intelligent colony organism- such creatures exist on Earth, why couldn't one become intelligent if evolution followed a different path elsewhere? C: The cybernetic elements of this being are interesting as well, makes you wonder what they looked like before... if there was a before, possibly the Triadultus are as much technological constructs as a biological ones.

I've noticed that with your more cybernetic themes in your pieces, a few common elements can be seen. For instance, metal cylinders are often incorporated. As well, many of your creations contain an element much like the first elbow joint of these collective creatures' arms. As someone who finds your work to be an influence, I was wondering if you could provide any insight into your motives behind these themes.

As for this creatures' concept, I've gotta say that I really enjoy the fact that you decided to compose this entity of multiple organisms. It brings to mind the communal nature of the cells in our own form, yet it is resented in macro. Bravo, to say the least.

Interesting to hear the recurring motifs you've seen in the work.Β  I tend to view those recurring forms as the results of differing fundamental principles in the created world.Β  So it's almost like those forms are the natural shapes that tend to happen in a world with slightly different physics from ours.
