It was originally planned, that I sew the costume, but then I had no time and mood for all. And, of course, you can sew it, if you want to do that. That's ok for me. Yes, and I would be glad, if you can give me credit, when you post it in the internet. Thank you!

Über More like this bin ich dann hierher gestolpert und bin wirklich begeistert.

Was nutzt du genau dafür?

Therefore i use rough brushes. On DA there are a few brushpacks, which are very good.but i can't exactly say, which one.

that truly looks amazing. The garment design looks amazing, it's gorgeous but it looks like something an actual person would wear. About the lighing and background there's nothing to say but: drool
Any chance you could tell me what brushes you use and where I can find them?
And/or if you can explain me how you colour/paint like that I do fair enough up to the point where I have to add colours

KejaBlank In reply to Sight94 [2012-01-31 21:45:40 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for your comment and welcome to deviantart!
I actually used brushed from Photoshop CS. When I use brushes, i often create by myself. Did you ever make your own brush? It's very simple. You also can watch a tutorial on youtube.

My approach beginning an artwork is different.
Sometimes I do an traditional sketch, scan it and colour it or I do the complete artwork in photoshop. Sometimes I use references and manipulate them to be part of my drawing. I work with an tablet and use photoshop layers.
There are many good tutorials on deviantart, where the artists show, how to draw. Very interesting. Maybe you'll find something. I often regard other peoples approach, you can learn a lot.

Just try a few approaches, you'll find your own.

Thanks for the quick (and kind) reply
Now excuse me for for the grammar errors which I'm sure I'll make. Just hope it makes sense to you anyhow

I've tried a few things allready, scanning traditional art and adding colours later, digital painting from point blank.
Currently trying the black-grey-white tones and add colours slowly.
I'm also using a tablet, one which needs upgrading but it works well enough and it has the presure function which has proven useful allready.
My study has forced me into buying the entire CS5 package. Next year we'll be taught how to paint digitally, but since it's something I've always wanted to know more about, I figured to give it a shot and ask advice
As for making brushes myself: No, I don't make my own brushes yet, trying to find out how as it is becoming more clear that would be the best thing for me to do.
I'll try my hand at finding better tutorials and just play around with techniques and approaches until I find something that works for me.

Thanks a bunch and keep up that great work of yours!
