How rude of me. Nice job. That's probably the closest I've seen based on the characters' appearance in the show. I suck at drawing animals. sigh

Who can't wait for the upcoming Redwall movie this 2011? I can't! I miss the television show. I only read books put into the show. Because....well......they are just memorable. If I read the book, I'll be like "OH! I remember that part. haha!"

So you've only read 3 of the 22 books in the Redwall series? SHAME ON YOU! ...just kidding.

NickVK1579 In reply to Kelaiah [2010-04-22 23:12:17 +0000 UTC]

Well technically. They are actually getting harder and harder to find. I don't know why, but it just is.

You mean you can't find other Redwall books? ^^ That's weird, usually whenever I walk into any book store they have at least 12 or all of the Redwall books.

NickVK1579 In reply to Kelaiah [2010-04-23 18:35:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. So its hard. I mean some of them are pretty old. Its like Harry Potter. I can't find any of the first books. Its always the new ones. Now......I seen time to time one of the recent released ones. That's my only problem Brian Jacques's argument about not making the 2011 film. The movie Redwall will never come out. It was being made but was let down by Brian Jacques himself. He said "people should read the books than watch the movie". Now I bet you don't care, but I just like to say this.....
The made a wonderful animation of Redwall. To be exact, three seasons were made. They even made a Redwall animation movie. They were both memorable. Now wouldn't it be cool to have CG (computer graphic) Redwall? That would be so epic. Also wouldn't the movie actually support the books and give the books a positive outcome? Look at Harry Potter......successful movies turned to successful books (or the other way around; but both were positive). Young readers and new followers of Redwall would not understand. You basically would have to read the first book. And really......that IS hard to find. It just give you more imagination about the book. It will show people memorable parts of books. Children and kids younger than I (and adults too), can imagine the books. At least make a Redwall video game for gosh sake. That would actually be kind of interesting.

I agree that Jacques is being a bit silly about not wanting a movie; though about the TV series, I heard the only reason why he let Nelvana do it was because they were the only company that would allow him any say in it.

But yeah, a CGI Redwall would be epic, there are so many scenes in so many of the books that would look so awesome in a CGI movie.

I think a video game is even less likely to happen, though.

True. I just dearly hope someone will make a movie.I'll bet Jacques will wake up eventually..........the movie may not be made till after he dies. And he IS getting quite old. Isn't he like in this 80s? He was pretty old when I was in grade school and that was about 15 years ago.

I think he might be in his 70's... maybe. I think he might be either the same age or just a little older than my grandma. But I still hope he lives a good long while and continues to dish out more Redwall stuff.

I have heard a few people complain about his newer books, but I think they're all great. "Eulalia", while it did have a surprising amount of grammar/spelling mistakes and had quite a few plotholes, it still made me laugh with pleasure and gripped me with excitement.

Plus "Doomwyte" was delightfully dark and sinister, and "The Sable Quean" was downwright awesome, plus it gave one of the most interesting villians of all Redwall history.

I believe that you should read the first one to understand the whole series. Its like any other series of books. You have to read the first one to understand. I can't find the first one anywhere. Neither the 2nd to 5th I believe. The last time I've read the books was when I was in 4th grade. We used to watch the tv show (which was on VHS at the time) and we always wanted to see the next episode because it left an excellent cliffhanger. Ahhh the good ol' days.

Heh heh, I actually saw season 3 of the Redwall cartoon before I had even heard of the books. I had clicked in a few years ago and saw it when Martin, Felldoh and Brome were in the prison pit, and from then on I got hooked.

Afterwards, my mom handed me "Redwall", and I started reading it... and was spellbound. My mom works at an elementary school library, so she had access to the first few Redwall books, so I was always asking for the next one. I think I finished "Mattimeo" in 2 days.

But you can't find the first few books? That's so weird, I guess I'm so used to seeing all of the books in the bookstore.

Yeah. I should have bought them a long time ago. But it was during the time we were WATCHING the show. So, I got more hooked on the show than the book. I wanted to read the book, but they were oh so popular that they sold out in like 10 seconds during my elementary book fair. I actually cried that I couldn't even get a book. To tell you the truth a bunch of the nerds got them. Sorry for stereotyping. But you get me drift.

Heh, reminds me of something that I will never forget: I was in the library a few years ago, and this group of teenagers were talking, and one of the guys says to a girl, "You're such a geek."

The girl proudly replies, "I'm not a geek, I'm a NERD." lol Cracks me up every time I think of it.

By the way, there is something I complete forgot to mention.I watched Redwall Season 1 (I get highly addicted to the show. Voice acting is actually really good for a cartoon animation) and I noticed, I didn't in the past when I was young, that there was only one part where swearing was mentioned and blood was added. It was in the fabric-style at the end but it was there. One of the rats apparently said "damn". It was the episode where Basil was first introduce and blood one was......well.........the assassination epic-failure attempt episode. Sorry, I don't remember the episode names at all.

Kelaiah In reply to NickVK1579 [2010-04-28 02:17:40 +0000 UTC]

I know which episodes you're talking about, and yeah, I noticed those too.

In the book, the rats actually did say "damn" as well, but I'm surprised they kept that in the TV show. But oh well.

As for the blood, I've heard people complain about how there wasn't any, but as you pointed out, there WAS.

And the episodes were "Cluny the Scourge Part 2" and "Battle Plans".

NickVK1579 In reply to Kelaiah [2010-04-28 02:31:42 +0000 UTC]

I don't remember the Cluny the Scourge Part 2. The book had that in it too? Well makes sense why. Yes there was blood but it was hard to find. When you were younger you were like "ok carry on to the next episode". Now you are like "HOLY S***!"

You know what Youtube Poop is? If you don't, its basically making fun of things. Mostly videos. They made one for Redwall. It's actually really funny and voices just match up. Some is a little lame. Some parts put Cluny in a high squeeky voice. I was like OMG'd there is actually one for Redwall.

Check it out.

Here are all the titles (as far as I can rememeber):

1. Cluny the Scourge, Part 1
2. Cluny the Scourge, Part 2
3. Treachery
4. Sparra Kingdom
5. Cluny's Clowns
6. High Standards
7. Captain Snow
8. Battle Plans
9. The Visitor
10. A Favour Returned
11. Asmodeous
12. Undergound
13. The Final Conflict

(I own the dvd so I would know ).

Yes, I do know about those, but I mostly tend to avoid them because they usually seem to have stuff in them that I don't really care for (bad language, sick jokes).

I like A Favour Returned, Cluny's Clowns, and The Visitor. They all have parts where Cornflower gets either jealous or has starts having affections towards Matthies.

Not all of them are bad. Yes their are pretty bad ones. Some don't even make any sense at all.

I think my favorite was Battle Plans, I liked the storyline. I also liked any scene where Basil is running around kicking down rats.

Anything with Basil just makes the whole thing less intense and more humorous. Who voiced him by the way? Also, today, I looked at the Library and.........nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Richard Binsely... I think. But he was perfect as Basil, absolutely perfect.

Really? Nothing at the library? What the heck kind of a town do you live in?! Ahem, no need to respond to that, its rhetorical.

I found it! I found a book at Charleston. Mattimeo! YEAH! Me and my family went down to South Carolina for vacation. We just got back. I can't stop reading the book. Its too memorable. I live in Ada, Michigan. It's not a huge town. But we have the famous Cascade Library near us. The sell everything.....except that. I kind of wish Redwall would turn into a graphic novel. Man would people like that. Manga and anime are growing continuously. Its more popular than western comics (like Superman....those comics are rare now). I also can't any library books since I have a $36.95 debt on my library card. -_-'

Redwall HAS been made into a graphic novel.

I've read it, and its AWESOME. Cluny is just so... *EPIC*. Plus Killconey is so much better animated than he was in the TV show (he was BUTCHERED in the TV show).

But YAAAAY, I'm so glad you found a book! Yay!

They actually have a graphic novel of it?! Well..............I am both surprised and not surprised. Then the movie SHOULD be made then. Its "not reading the book" if you read the comic. lol

Kelaiah In reply to NickVK1579 [2010-05-11 05:01:41 +0000 UTC]

What do you mean? Like, it there blood and gore? Well... its actually black and white, so its hard to see any blood or stuff. But it still looks plenty awesome.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NickVK1579 In reply to Kelaiah [2010-05-13 02:19:06 +0000 UTC]

Not the blood and gore lol. I mean, yeah that would be cool. Some blood (not gore) would be a little more appropriate. I mean....hey! Young students learned really gorey stuff in History class. I mean, when I was in elementary, I learned about Vietnam and one picture had gore written all over it.

But in the graphic novel, I mean in general. Is it illustrated like the television series?

Kelaiah In reply to NickVK1579 [2010-05-13 05:32:47 +0000 UTC]

No, its illustrated nothing like the tv series - but it still looks plenty epic. You might like it, you might not. I don't know.
