Lol, "holy cow" is good enough for me, Jen These Pelicans were so funny to watch. They were doing all kinds of crazy things. I'll post some more pics later

I love pelicans and herons. I got some shots of a beautiful heron while in yellowstone. I was leaning out of the car with the 300 on the camera, but they were way further. not even with that lens was it close enough. I was real bummed.

Even with a 300mm you'll have to be quite close to fill out the frame. I would like to get a 600mm, but then I won't be able to shoot handheld any longer. I think I'll just wait for the birds to get close enough to me

I'm totally with you on that. The 300 took a bit of getting used to. I can't imagine a 600.
